Agriculture/ Digital Arts

Hi! I’m Ms. Cassie Jo Sheppard, and I’m so excited to be part of the Falcon family! I’m a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Agricultural Education (Go Dawgs!). My teaching superpower is creating hands-on, engaging lessons that keep students involved. This year, I’ll be launching the Sullivan Middle School agriculture program, where we’ll explore everything Ag: from plants and animals to leadership skills and real-world experiences. I’m also thrilled to be starting an FFA chapter and can’t wait for students to jump in, get involved, and help build something special. When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me crocheting, gardening, or reading.

A little bit about yourself?
My teaching superpower is caring for my students. Guided by my faith, I strive to create a classroom where every student feels supported, challenged, and capable of success. I encourage students to push beyond what they believe are their limits, helping them discover they always have a little more "in the tank." In my Digital Arts and Introduction to Career Clusters classes, I complete every project myself so I can anticipate challenges and better guide students as they think critically, solve problems creatively, and build confidence in their abilities.
I have taught students in every grade level, from kindergarten through 12th grade, across public, private, and charter schools. Since 2016, I have also worked as a digital illustrator, including illustrating a children's book for a small publishing company. Outside the classroom, I enjoy singing and use my classically trained voice to serve at my church. My favorite snack is a mix of roasted and salted pepitas with dark chocolate (72% cocoa or higher).
