How do you help students become leaders in their own learning?

Students will become leaders in the own learning in Band through taking ownership of their individual success. They will have multiple opportunities to work individually and in small groups to facilitate their own musical experiences that develop their sense of accountability, communication, and musicianship. Outside of SMS, students will have opportunities to display their musicianship on regional and state levels through SCBDA events, reinforcing their ownership of their own learning.

What's one way you "sharpen the saw" and take care of yourself?
I strive to be a life long learner in order to give students the most comprehensive music education possible. Through working on my Masters degree and seeking out innovative professional development opportunities, I have gained a variety of perspectives on music education to cater to each students need. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, reading, and traveling.
